Abstract

The consumption of natural resources and environmental pollution are a source of concern for individuals and governments due to their current and future negative impacts. This has prompted companies and governments to adopt green policies aimed at producing environmentally friendly products. Adopting green supply chains is one of the most important policies capable of providing suitable production inputs that are free from harm to users, workers, and the environment, while also allowing for the recycling of production waste. All of this will contribute to achieving environmental sustainability. The current research aims to study the nature of the relationship and impact of green supply chains on achieving environmental sustainability at the Karbala Oil Refinery. The research adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, using a questionnaire as the data collection instrument, which was evaluated and tested. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 300 employees at the Karbala Oil Refinery, and the responses were analyzed using SPSS software. The research concluded that there is a strong positive relationship and impact of green supply chains and their dimensions on environmental sustainability at the Karbala Oil Refinery
